Biography

Alek Száhala got interested in producing music straight after he got his first sound card in 1993. He made lots of minor BBS and internet releases using names BwD and Apofish during the following eight years. In 2003 Alek was first time seriously noticed by finnish harddance DJs and promoters. Later in the very same year he played his first live set at Säde club and got his first record contracts from Electronica Exposed.

After year 2003 Alek has gained more reputation in Finland as well as in international scene. Among the vinyl releases through Camel Records, Finrg recordings and Electronic, some of his most played tracks 'Ngarnuuk' and 'Man eaten' were also included in Proteus' new mixtape: 'The Hellfire Club' released by brand new Finnish label Teflon Bullet.

Among the gigs played in Finland, UK, and Australia, most remarkable ones for Alek have been such events as Utopia (Sydney), Mayhem (Brisbane), Logic (London), Pharmacy (Melbourne) and Koneisto, the biggest electronic music festival in Finland.

Alongside with Carbon Based, Re-form, Epilim and Pain on Creation, Alek Száhala has been one of the key members in the developement of Finnish hard dance sound (Finrg). His music varies from very melodic trance and trancecore to dark, fast and evil hardnrg.

While being one of the most active freeform producer in Finland, Alek studies computational linguistics and computer science at the University of Helsinki.
